I'm a senior software developer and software architect with more than 25 years of experience. I've worked on everything from financial applications and mobile products to distributed peer-to-peer systems and AI-powered applications. That's meant designing and building systems myself, as well as leading technical work in development teams.
I'm particularly interested in improving existing systems: understanding where complexity comes from, simplifying architecture, modernizing technology, and making codebases easier to work with while keeping product development moving.
I also like contributing beyond the purely technical side of a project. I work closely with product owners and customers, ask a lot of questions, and enjoy figuring out what is worth building as much as how to build it.
Currently, I work on LLM-based applications, such as AI agents and MCP servers.
Git Fixup: A VS Code extension I built to make working with Git fixup commits simpler and help keep commit histories clean.
I originally built Git Fixup because I needed it myself, but designed it as a tool that would be useful to other developers as well.
Kannatan.fi: An AI-powered voter advice tool for the 2025 Finnish county and municipal elections, allowing users to explore and compare political parties through conversation rather than a traditional questionnaire.
I designed and built the application together with Jusa Mankki, using the OpenAI ecosystem.
